The Widal Kit works on the principle of agglutination, where patient serum is mixed and incubated with the provided antigen suspensions. If anti-salmonella antibodies are present in the serum, they will react with the antigens, leading to visible agglutination. Agglutination indicates a positive test result, signaling the presence of anti-salmonella antibodies. Conversely, no agglutination indicates a negative test result, suggesting the absence of these antibodies.
